Elly is an artist, craftsperson, and creative based out of Colorado.
Elly Faye Creations are one of a kind pieces inspired by the beauty of femininity, nature, and interconnectivity. Featuring sustainable and upcycled materials wherever possible, Elly’s work encompasses a deep respect for the work of generations of women and craftspeople who’s knowledge and experience inform the art you see in this portfolio (Elly Faye Creations honors the family name Faye, held by some of Elly’s favorite people, but especially in honor of Janice Faye, who along with “Reeny” inspired a lifelong love of textile work). Elly believes in intentional design to create accessible pieces that will last, and loves projects that repair or repurpose beloved objects. Artistic influences include Elsa Schiaparelli, the Arts and Crafts Movement, HAX tailoring, Punk fashion, Hozier, Folklore, and Gothic and Romantic classic literature.
Beginning with a wild imagination and passion for embroidery and sewing projects from the age of seven, Elly’s previous work spans more than a decade in costume design and crafts in live entertainment, over 10 seasons helping people play dress up at the renaissance festival, several collective years teaching sewing and design to all ages, and includes projects with celebrated institutions and individuals from Lookingglass Theatre Company to David Yarrow.
